Joe Hansley, WR/PR, Colorado State – 2016

Positives: Adequate speed and acceleration. Deceptive in his routes, and doesn’t seem to give defenders clues about when he’s making breaks. Willing to go to the ground for low passes. Adequately reliable hands when fielding punts. Protects the ball through traffic. Was also the team’s holder on field goals.

Negatives: Fairly unexceptional speed. Tends to round off his out routes. Generally below-average hands and concentration when he has to extend or adjust, and tends to body catch. Needs to be more aware of where the first down marker is as a receiver. Takes risky decisions fielding punts, and doesn’t always get himself in the right position to field a punt. Below-average downfield blocker who tends to lunge and miss.

Projection: Undrafted free agent.

Runs with adequate game speed and above-average track speed for the position – and very good for his size. Runs above-average routes, with a nice in route and quickness out of his breaks. Nimble on the sidelines. Generally above-average hands – catches with hands and extends very well to snag fast passes. Tracks well over his outside shoulder. Adjusts consistently well to passes thrown behind him. Fair jump cut, lateral quickness, and vision in the open field for yards after the catch. Not easy to bring down. Adequate downfield blocker. Adequate vertical leap and lower-body explosiveness in Combine drills.

Negatives: Though his hands are pretty good, he shows inconsistent concentration on easy passes, and will let some go through his hands when he turns upfield before the catch. Below-average hand size. Below-average ability to change directions with burst in Combine drills. Below-average upper-body strength. Tore ACL in September 2013, had surgery and missed rest of season, redshirting season. Then injured knee again in July 2014 and had surgery, missing unknown amount of time.

Shaq Washington, WR/PR, Cincinnati – 2016

Positives: Runs with above-average speed and quickness. Above-average routes – is quick in and out of breaks. Uses his quickness well to get off of press coverage at the line. Generally above-average hands. Good body control and concentration on difficult and contested passes. Fairly nimble on the sidelines. Adjusts very well to off-target passes. Negatives: Has some lapses of concentration on easy passes. Doesn’t track passes as well over his outside shoulder. Seems a little unwilling to go over the middle and loses concentration – will short-arm a pass when a hit is coming. Not very strong, and is easy to bring down once a defender gets a hold of. Questionable ball security technique and will hold the ball away from his body through traffic. Generally poor decisions as a punt returner and tried to field a punt on a bounce in traffic and fumbled – also tried to return a punt in traffic inside the 10-yard line. Will also field punts off-balance. Poor accuracy as a passer at all levels. Knee bone bruise in senior year of high school. Missed 2011 season due to unknown injury.
