Mekale McKay, WR, Cincinnati – 2016

Colts, UDFA.

Transferred from Arkansas in Summer 2013.

Postseason events: NFL Combine and NFLPA Bowl.

Positives: Was a redshirt senior, so he doesn’t lack experience. Very good height for the position, with above-average bulk. Adequate hand size. Fair body control and can adjust to passes in the air. Will win jump ball situations. Good effort on off-target passes. Smart clock awareness and knows to get out of bounds during the two-minute drill. Adequate track speed for the position, but above-average for his size. Adequate vertical leap and lower-body explosiveness in Combine drills.

Negatives: Inconsistent hands and has some trouble extending and lets the ball get to his body at times. Will sometimes jump for passes when he doesn’t need to. Below-average tracking over his inside shoulder. Suspect ball security and will fumble with minor contact. Inconsistent downfield blocker and can be pushed back and will let defenders past him. Below-average ability to change directions with burst in Combine drills. Below-average upper-body strength.

Projection: Undrafted free agent.
