Rashad Greene, WR/PR, Florida State – 2015

All-Star Games: Was on Senior Bowl roster, but didn’t play in it due to a knee injury.

Positives: Runs with above-average speed, quickness, and acceleration. Above-average routes – they’re crisp and he is quick in and out of breaks. Above-average hands and can high-point passes. Good concentration and effort on contested passes. Above-average body control to adjust to off-target passes, and has the vertical leap to win jump-ball situations. Can hold the ball with a big hit. Nimble on sidelines to get both feet down for the catch. Above-average vision and elusiveness in the open field. Fights hard for extra yards after the catch. Knows when to get out of bounds to stop the clock.

Negatives: Slightly below-average height and bulk for the position. He telegraphs when he will be making a cut in his routes. Doesn’t seem very physical with cornerbacks and will get knocked around. Suspect tracking over his outside shoulder. He still lets ball get to his body too much, and had an issue with drops in 2014. Minor finger injury in August 2013. Concussion in October 2014 and missed one game. Minor knee injury kept him out of the Senior Bowl.

Projection: Round 4.

Vince Mayle, WR, Washington State – 2015

Was a redshirt senior. Transferred to Washington State in 2013 after one year of junior-college football.

All-Star Games: Senior Bowl.

Positives: Though relatively inexperienced at wide receiver (he was a LB/RB in high school and didn’t play football the first two years of college) he’s already at a fairly high level, and may be improving). Has good height and bulk for the position. Runs with adequate game speed. Though he doesn’t make quick cuts, his routes are usually precise. Leaves a good sideline cushion on deep routes, allowing him to adjust to passes. Above-average hands and can extend well – and pretty fearlessly even in traffic. Concentrates fairly well on contested passes. Tracks passes well over his inside shoulder. Good effort for off-target passes. Heads upfield very quickly after the catch.

Negatives: Inexperienced at the wide receiver position. Will body catch at times. Will round off his routes at times. Below-average acceleration and not very quick out of his breaks – doesn’t seem to get separation easily in his routes and off the line. Below-average balance after his cuts and will slip out of his breaks. Below-average hand size. Broke his right thumb in the 2015 Senior Bowl and was limited in Combine workouts.

Projection: Round 4.

Devin Smith, WR/KR, Ohio State – 2015

All-Star Games: Senior Bowl.

Positives: Has adequate height and bulk for the position. Accelerates quickly off of the line and runs with good speed. Has good lateral quickness to sidestep the first defender on screens. Runs above-average routes and can set up defenders well for the deep routes. Good tracking over his outside shoulder. Has above-average hands in general, and can extend well. Above-average concentration on contested passes. Adjusts well for off-target passes. Comes back to help quarterback in trouble. Strong after the catch. Is very athletic and was a high jump champion in college. Is also a gunner on the punt team.

Negatives: Below-average vision as a kick returner– gets too far into traffic before making a move, seeming to depend too much on speed and quickness. Isn’t particularly sudden out of his breaks, though he has the acceleration to go after the ball. Suspect concentration and will drop some easy passes coming out of his breaks and over the middle. Below-average tracking over his outside shoulder. Doesn’t get good position on contested passes. Below-average hand size.

Projection: Round 3. A solid deep threat, he doesn’t have as well-rounded of a game as Phillip Dorsett, who should go higher. Will almost definitely still end up as some team’s deep threat and kick returner, and do well at it.

Darren Waller, WR, Georgia Tech – 2015

All-Star Games: Shrine Game.

Positives: Very tall for the position, with H-back bulk – overall, has nearly tight end size. Has the ability to accelerate pretty well off the line. Good long speed for his size down the seam. Fair concentration over middle. Generally above-average hands and body control and can catch difficult passes away from his frame while tiptoeing the sideline. Nice vertical leap and is able to go up and catch passes in traffic. Pretty good feet and can get both feet down on sideline passes. Above-average downfield blocker who will wall off defenders to seal the edge on outside runs.

Negatives: Inconsistent effort in getting off the line against press coverage, and sometimes seems to take it too easy. Below-average routes – he is slow into his breaks and has to dial it down a lot – will probably have a hard time getting separation in the pros as a wide receiver. Tends to lunge as a run blocker. Suspended by team in early September 2013 for rule violation. Then was suspended for first two games of 2014 for another team rule violation.

Projection: Round 4. With size, hands, and athleticism, he will fill some team’s needs and should make a roster out of training camp and potentially put up WR3 numbers. I think his inconsistencies will keep him from doing much more.

Zach Zwiniak, FB, Penn State – 2015

Was a grad student.

Positives: Good height and above-average bulk for the position. Runs with adequate speed. Gives consistently good effort for extra yards after the catch, and has above-average power, churning his feet well through contact. He seems to get stronger as the game goes on. Always falls forward for extra yards. Fair ball security.

Negatives: Broke wrist in Spring 2013. Broke ankle in November 2014 and was still not ready for his March 2015 Pro Day. Below-average balance after contact low on his body, and he gets tripped up easily. Below-average burst. Not very agile.

Projection: UDFA.

Kevin Vaadeland, TE, North Dakota State-FCS – 2015

Positives: Okay concentration in traffic. Is used heavily in the red zone, and caught a lot of touchdowns that way. Finishes strong after the catch and will lower his shoulder through defenders. Fair routes and is pretty crisp on his in route.

Negatives: Generally below-average hands – body catches and has trouble extending and drops easy passes. Generally poor run blocker –consistently lunges and misses or overruns the defender he is trying to block. Gets pulled off his feet by defenders consistently. Will jump for passes for no reason, losing ability to get yards after the catch. Below-average balance making cuts. Needs to look back to quarterback on routes.

Projection: UDFA.

Larry Pettis, TE, Louisiana-Lafayette – 2015

Positives: Generally above-average hands and can extend for passes away from his frame. Turns upfield fairly quickly after the catch to get extra yards. Fair hand-eye coordination and body control and can catch passes while sliding. Pretty solid run blocker when he can just plow ahead.

Negatives: Slightly below-average height and bulk for the position. Below-average lateral quickness, and will lunge at defenders and miss when he has to slide as a blocker. At times, he will double-clutch or let passes get to his body. A little tight in his routes, and will round some of them off. Suspect pass blocker who seems to have trouble deciding who to block.

Projection: UDFA.

James O’Shaughnessy, TE, Illinois State-FCS – 2015

Positives: Adequate height and bulk for the position. Runs with adequate game speed for the position, and above-average track speed – maybe he can get faster in games? Very good concentration in traffic. Seems to have strong hands and can consistently rip passes away from defenders. Gets pretty good positioning against defenders in the end zone and will attack the ball in the air. Fair downfield blocker who can redirect defenders. Above-average vertical leap, and could be a solid red-zone option.

Negatives: Though he is able to box out defenders, he has below-average explosiveness, lateral quickness and change-of-direction quickness to get separation running routes. Poor upper-body strength. Suspect body control and coordination and has some trouble bringing in passes thrown behind him.

Projection: Round 7. Should get a look in training camp, but may not be athletic enough or have strong enough inline blocking skills to stick.

Chris Pohlman, FB/TE, Bowling Green – 2015

Positives: As a fullback, he shows good ball security technique, and protects the ball well through traffic. Churns through contact for extra yards. As a blocker on the move, he gets his base set well to establish leverage. Above-average run blocker as an in-line tight end.

Negatives: Possibly lacks hand strength – stripped of ball despite adequate ball security technique in a 2014 game. Lowers his head through the line, limiting his cutback opportunities. Seems to have below-average speed and burst.

Projection: UDFA.

Eric Tomlinson, TE/OL, Texas-El Paso – 2015

All-Star Games: NFLPA Game.

Positives: Has good height and bulk for the position – and is nearly big enough to be an offensive lineman. Though his hands aren’t all that good, he is able to extend and one-hand passes. Is able to adjust to passes thrown behind him. Can hold the ball with a big hit. Not easy to bring down after the catch. Fair concentration on tipped passes.

Negatives: Below-average speed for the position. Generally below-average hands – will double-clutch some. Seems to have below-average hand-eye coordination and has trouble tracking passes.

Projection: Round 7. Though athletically limited, his size – and the fact that he may be able to be used as a goal-line tight end – give him a shot at a roster.
