James O’Shaughnessy, TE, Illinois State-FCS – 2015

Positives: Adequate height and bulk for the position. Runs with adequate game speed for the position, and above-average track speed – maybe he can get faster in games? Very good concentration in traffic. Seems to have strong hands and can consistently rip passes away from defenders. Gets pretty good positioning against defenders in the end zone and will attack the ball in the air. Fair downfield blocker who can redirect defenders. Above-average vertical leap, and could be a solid red-zone option.

Negatives: Though he is able to box out defenders, he has below-average explosiveness, lateral quickness and change-of-direction quickness to get separation running routes. Poor upper-body strength. Suspect body control and coordination and has some trouble bringing in passes thrown behind him.

Projection: Round 7. Should get a look in training camp, but may not be athletic enough or have strong enough inline blocking skills to stick.
