Malcome Kennedy, WR, Texas A&M – 2015

Was a redshirt senior.

All-Star Games: Medal of Honor Bowl.

Positives: Above-average bulk for the position, and is built more like a running back. Runs generally above-average routes, and gets good positioning on slant patterns. Has strong hands and can pluck fast passes out of the air. Can extend and adjust to come down with some very hard catches. Can adjust to back-shoulder passes. Okay concentration on contested passes. Runs with adequate speed and acceleration at best. Adequate downfield blocker – gets in the way and isn’t easy to move off of his base.

Negatives: Slightly below-average height. Inconsistent hands overall, and drops some easy ones in the end zone. Tends to body catch but can adjust and extend at times. Needs work on blocking technique – lacks leverage and gets caught out of position easily. Rounds off his routes.

Projection: UDFA.

Can maintain his balance after a big hit.

Negatives: Short and slight for the position. Below-average ball security on kick returns and holds ball too loosely. Needs to switch hands to keep defenders from being able to contact the ball on tackles. Though his hands are adequate, the ball tends to get to his body. Below-average concentration and hands in traffic. Below-average cutback vision. As a blocker, is easily overpowered.  Injured knee in December 2013, had surgery, and missed bowl game.

Negatives: Slightly below-average height for the position, and has small hands. Has inconsistent hands and concentration, and sometimes drops easy passes – even when wide open. Adjusts very well to underthrown passes. Reportedly had big trouble in slippery conditions at Shrine Game practices. Though willing, he is a weak downfield blocker. Consistently poor explosiveness and lateral quickness in Pro Day and Combine drills. Did not play in 2014 bowl game due to team rule violation. Broke his collarbone in 2014 and missed several games.
