Damiere Byrd, WR/PR/KR, South Carolina – 2015

All-Star Games: Medal of Honor Bowl.

Positives: Runs with above-average speed and acceleration, and his very good track speed shows he may get even faster in games. Gets off the line and accelerates very quickly. Shows above-average routes and gets into and out of his breaks quickly. Above-average body control and can get both feet down on difficult sideline passes. Adjusts pretty well to back-shoulder passes. Has adequate, though inconsistent, hands, and can extend for passes at times. Tracks fairly well over his inside shoulder. Can maintain his balance after a big hit.

Negatives: Short and slight for the position. Below-average ball security on kick returns and holds ball too loosely. Needs to switch hands to keep defenders from being able to contact the ball on tackles. Though his hands are adequate, the ball tends to get to his body. Below-average concentration and hands in traffic. Below-average cutback vision. As a blocker, is easily overpowered.  Injured knee in December 2013, had surgery, and missed bowl game.

Projection: UDFA.
