WR Lance Lewis, East Carolina

Redskins, UDFA. E. Car.: Above-average hand size. Average height, but solid build.

Positives: Very nice hands. Nice sideline awareness and body control. Good effort and acceleration after catch. Shifty route runner. Excellent body control, tracking and adjustments to errant passes.

Negatives: Missed several late-season games with left knee and right foot injuries.

Projection: Enters a pretty fluid WR situation in Washington. I think he should be at least 4th on their depth chart, but he does have Garcon, Morgan, Moss, (and probably Hankerson) ahead of him. Has starting potential, but will likely only ever be a WR3 type on Redskins.

WR Ryan Broyles, Oklahoma

Lions, 2nd round. Okla.: Below-average size and slight build. Average hand size.

Positives: Good speed and fair hands. Good route runner who gives great effort on errant passes. Strong for his size. Not easy to bring down. Highly productive. Finishes tough. Fast off line. Willing blocker.

Negatives: Poor ball security. Suspect decisions after catch. Tore ACL late in 2011 season and missed rest of year. Won’t resume training until around April.

Projection: Obviously won’t ever pass Calvin Johnson on the depth chart, but should eventually be an effective slot WR on team. Has Titus Young and Nate Burleson ahead of him still, though. Will probably be third option in passing game there once he gets over his injury and passes Burleson, giving him eventual WR3 fantasy potential.

WR Chris Givens, Wake Forest

Rams, 4th round. Wake Forest: Junior who has declared for 2012 draft.

Positives: Quick acceleration. Above-average long speed. Comes back to help QBs. Nice routes. Very good track speed. Fairly strong upper body.

Negatives: Below-average hands. Dropped some easy passes in 2011 bowl game. Seriously short-armed pass when he knew hit was coming. Easy to bring down.

Projection: A lot of evaluators think very highly of him, but I’m not one of them. Is also on a very confusing WR depth chart filled with similarly mediocre WRs, with Danario Alexander, Brandon Gibson, Steve Smith, Danny Amendola, Austin Pettis, Greg Salas, and fellow rookie Brian Quick. Will get a shot to contribute right away, and has ability to put up WR3 numbers if Sam Bradford gets back on track.

WR Marquis Maze, Alabama

Steelers, UDFA. Ala.: Short for the position, but solid build. Average hand size.

Positives: Very fast. Great hands. Good route-runner. Despite size, is willing to lower shoulder going out of bounds to deliver hit. Very good balance after contact. Adjusts well to off-target passes. Makes good punt returner decisions. Willing blocker.

Negatives: Not strong enough to sustain blocks. Has trouble extending to snag passes away from frame. Hurt in Senior Bowl practices.

Projection: Will likely take Antonio Brown’s returner position and contribute immediately in return-yardage leagues. Could work his way into the WR rotation as a slot WR. Likely won’t ever be more than a WR3 on Steelers, though.

WR Junior Hemingway, Michigan

Chiefs, 7th round. Mich.: Average height, but very solid bulk. Above-average hand size.

Positives: Very good hands and concentration. Good downfield blocker. Good speed and acceleration. Clutch receiver. Adequate track speed. Runs routes under control. Strong upper body.

Projection: Has enough skills to be a solid WR in the NFL, and may even see a lot of action as their 2012 third WR. May already have the bet hands on the team. Expect WR4 numbers in 2012, with WR2 upside in 2013 and beyond.

WR/P/PR Danny Coale, Virginia Tech

Cowboys, 5th round. Va. Tech: Was on early Shrine Game roster, but not later one.

Positives: Adjusts well to ball. Adequate speed. Very good track speed. Above-average hands and looks natural catching it. Very good effort. Worked out as a punter in 2011 practices and was fairly effective punter in bowl game. Fair separation deep. Willing to go over middle. Average explosiveness.

Negatives: Doesn’t offer much after the catch. Below-average acceleration, and doesn’t change gears well, though much better in Combine drills. Below-average upper-body strength.

Projection: Has the capacity to be a Davone Bess-type possession WR and could eventually put up solid WR3 numbers (higher in PPR). But he has Miles Austin, Dez Bryant ahead of him right now, and hopefully the Cowboys realize that Dwayne Harris is their actual best slot WR. As a result, there aren’t many opportunities for Coale. He’ll make the roster due to his versatility and hands, but may not get many chances. Not draftable in fantasy.

WR TJ Graham, North Carolina State

Bills, 3rd round. N.C. St.: Slightly below-average size. Average hand size. Was on early Shrine Game roster, but opted for Senior Bowl.

Positives: Above-average speed, but great track speed. Good downfield blocker. Adequate hands. Adjusts well to ball. Above-average speed and quickness. Consistently comes back to help QB. Tough to bring down. Very good balance after contact. Reliable hands on punt returner. Nimble feet on sideline. Quick into breaks. Decisive KR and smart punt returner decisions.

Negatives: Drops easy passes at times. Seems to have trouble judging punts. Suspect balance. Doesn’t get good positioning against CBs. Doesn’t get much separation. Not a strong downfield blocker. Weak upper body.

Projection: Should be a solid slot WR on the Bills, where he can use his solid route running and speed best. He’ll battle David Nelson at the position, and it’s slightly better than 50/50 that he’ll win. I expect him to put up WR4 numbers eventually, but is bench material in 2012.

WR Marvin McNutt, Iowa

Eagles, 6th round. Iowa: Very good size. Good hand size.

Positives: Good speed. Fair hands. Effective after the catch. Nimble on sideline. Blocks very well. Former QB who should have an understanding of offensive concepts.

Negatives: Below-average acceleration. Slow out of breaks. Doesn’t track passes very well over inside shoulder.

Projection: On Eagles, will only likely be a part-timer behind Maclin and Jackson, but could be a nice part of their WR rotation. If either Maclin or Jackson are gone after 2012, he could step in and provide fair fantasy numbers. Draft low and stash for high WR3 potential.

WR Patrick Edwards, Houston

Lions, UDFA. Houston: Small size. Below-average hand size.

Positives: Above-average speed. Nice routes and gets in and out of breaks cleanly. Tracks passes well over shoulder. Generally reliable hands. Good deep separation. Good effort for errant passes.

Negatives: Concentration lapses at times. Hurt hamstring in Senior Bowl practices and didn’t play in game. Broke leg early in college career.

Projection: Has the talent to be a solid slot WR and put up WR3 numbers in the NFL, but is stuck deep on the WR depth chart in Detroit, where he’s probably the third option in the slot behind Titus Young and Ryan Broyles. Not fantasy relevant unless he goes to a team that’s thin at slot WR.

WR Jordan White, Western Michigan

Jets, 7th round. W. Mich.:

Positives: Adequate speed. Nice routes. Very good hands and adjusts very well. Led FBS in receiving yards. Considered student of the game. Can take a hit. Fair ability to track passes over inside shoulder. Adequate upper-body strength. Adequate quickness and change-of-direction skills.

Negatives: Bit of an injury history — hurt ACL in 2009 and had to withdraw from Senior Bowl after arthroscopic knee surgery.

Projection: Has a good chance to make the team and be at least a part-time contributor in 2012. Is probably their 4th or 5th WR right now, and could do well after a year or so of learning behind Santonio Holmes. Don’t expect much right away, but could be a solid fantasy bench WR eventually.
