WR/P/PR Danny Coale, Virginia Tech

Cowboys, 5th round. Va. Tech: Was on early Shrine Game roster, but not later one.

Positives: Adjusts well to ball. Adequate speed. Very good track speed. Above-average hands and looks natural catching it. Very good effort. Worked out as a punter in 2011 practices and was fairly effective punter in bowl game. Fair separation deep. Willing to go over middle. Average explosiveness.

Negatives: Doesn’t offer much after the catch. Below-average acceleration, and doesn’t change gears well, though much better in Combine drills. Below-average upper-body strength.

Projection: Has the capacity to be a Davone Bess-type possession WR and could eventually put up solid WR3 numbers (higher in PPR). But he has Miles Austin, Dez Bryant ahead of him right now, and hopefully the Cowboys realize that Dwayne Harris is their actual best slot WR. As a result, there aren’t many opportunities for Coale. He’ll make the roster due to his versatility and hands, but may not get many chances. Not draftable in fantasy.
