Zach Vraa, WR, North Dakota State-FCS – 2016

Positives: Runs with above-average speed. Okay routes. Fairly quick out of breaks, and gets some separation in the deep routes. Above-average body control, and adjusts very well to off-target passes. Very good effort on off-target passes – will lay himself out and go to ground for passes. Will make some difficult catches and can extend somewhat for passes away from his body. Holds the ball with a big hit. Fair concentration in traffic. Not easy to bring down after the catch. Fairly nimble on sidelines.

Negatives: Inconsistent concentration, and will drop some easy passes. Sometimes cuts his routes short, limiting his separation on short and intermediate routes. Needs to know when to get out of bounds to stop the clock. Below-average acceleration after the catch. Mistimes jumps at times. Needs to be more aggressive as a downfield blocker. Broke both collarbones in 2011.

Projection: Undrafted free agent.

Carlos Harris, WR/KR, North Texas – 2016

Positives: Runs with above-average speed. Good stop-and-start ability. Okay routes and is fairly quick out of his breaks. Okay hands. Shows good effort on off target passes. Tracks passes fairly well over his inside shoulder. Above-average vision after the catch, and picks his way through traffic well. Fairly nimble on sidelines. Fight hard for extra yards after the catch. Above-average downfield blocker.

Negatives: Though his hands are adequate, he has some trouble extending for passes away from his body. Generally poor ball security when contact is coming and will protect ball when he will be hit. Doesn’t get a lot of separation on post routes.

Projection: Undrafted free agent.

Mike Thomas, WR, Southern Mississippi – 2016

Rams, Round 6.

Postseason events: NFL Combine and NFLPA Bowl.

Positives: Above-average height and adequate bulk for the position. Great hand size. Runs with above-average game speed and acceleration, and good for his size. Accelerates well off the line. Fairly smooth in his routes and doesn’t telegraph where he’s going. Nimble on the sidelines and can get both feet down. Generally good hands and can extend well and consistently. Tracks passes well over his inside or outside shoulder. Is able to adjust to back-shoulder passes. Above-average vertical leap for the position. Good lower-body explosiveness in Combine and pro day drills. Very good lateral quickness in pro day tests. Above-average ability to change directions with burst in Combine drills. Above-average upper-body strength.

Negatives: Sometimes lets the ball get to his body. Below-average lateral quickness. Below-average quickness into and out of his breaks and will sometimes lose his balance. Has a hard time locating the ball at times. Looks a little bit uncoordinated on the move – always looks like he’s on the verge of tripping. His Combine timing numbers were a lot better than his pro day numbers – maybe indicating an inconsistency in effort.

Devon Cajuste, WR, Stanford – 2016

Postseason events: NFL Combine and Shrine Game.

Positives: Was a redshirt senior, so he doesn’t lack experience. Very good height and great bulk for the position – has H-back size. Huge hands. Runs with adequate speed. He generally runs above-average routes and completes routes to get separation from defenders. Is willing to get physical with cornerbacks, and gets good positioning. Consistently good effort for off-target passes and will lay out to bring them in – he even dove for a sideline pass at the Combine. Good hands and extends to snag fast passes, and adjusts consistently well to passes thrown slightly behind him. Keeps his balance well after contact. Adequate vertical leap and lower-body explosiveness. Excellent ability to change directions with burst. Adequate upper-body strength. Runs with adequate track speed for his size.

Negatives: Not especially fast for the position. Lacks flexibility, and doesn’t bend well at the waist when adjusting to passes thrown farther behind him on the move.

Projection: Round 4.

Paul McRoberts, WR/KR/PR, Southeast Missouri State – 2016

Postseason events: Senior Bowl and Shrine Game.

Positives: Good height and above-average bulk for the position, with above-average hand size. Runs with above-average speed. Generally good hands and can extend well and can scoop underthrown passes. Tracks passes very well over his head. Able to adjust to passes thrown behind him. Not afraid to catch over the middle.

Negatives: He is a long strider with below-average acceleration and looks like he has some trouble making quick breaks. Not very deceptive in his routes. Will sometimes mistime his jumps. Not very nimble on sideline catches. Doesn’t get in good position on punt returns.

Projection: Undrafted free agent.

Leonte Carroo, WR, Rutgers – 2016

Dolphins, Round 3.

Postseason events: NFL Combine and Senior Bowl.

Positives: Has adequate height and above-average bulk for the position, with above-average hand size. Runs with adequate game and track speed and acceleration. He uses his hands pretty well to get away from press coverage. Generally good hands. Has above-average body control and can adjust to passes and highpoint. Adequate upper-body strength.

Negatives: Slightly below-average vertical leap and lower-body explosiveness in Combine drills. Doesn’t get a whole lot of separation on intermediate routes. Rounds off his out routes. Violated curfew and was suspended for a half. Then was suspended indefinitely in September 2015 for investigation that he threw a woman to the ground, but charges were dropped. Injured ankle in 2015 season and missed two games, then reaggravated the injury during Senior Bowl practices and missed the game.

Braxton Miller, WR/RB/QB/TE/PR/KR, Ohio State – 2016

Texans, Round 3.

Postseason events: NFL Combine and Senior Bowl. Super-versatile athlete who has played a lot of positions, including returner. Started college career as a QB, and was effective at it, but moved to tight end for 2015 season.

Receiver Positives: Has above-average height and bulk. Above-average body control, and can bring in passes thrown behind him. Is also able to adjust to underthrown passes and go to ground. Pretty strong after the catch. Good quickness and acceleration out of his breaks. Able to use his hands well to keep cornerbacks off of him at the line. Good open field vision on kick returns. Tracks well over his inside shoulder. Good vision and cutback ability. Very hard to bring down. Runs hard and finishes runs with impact. Runs with above-average track speed for the position. Adequate vertical leap and lower-body explosiveness in Combine drills. Very good ability to change directions with burst in Combine drills. Above-average upper-body strength.

Receiver Negatives: Inconsistent hands overall. Below-average concentration and will take his eyes off the ball and drop some easy ones. Had a right calf cramp in Senior Bowl practices. Poor ball security and consistently holds ball too loosely when making moves. Minor left MCL sprain in September 2013 and missed a few games. Had minor right shoulder surgery in February 2014 and was expected to miss a few months, but he dislocated it in August 2014 and missed the season.

Quarterback Positives: Adequate hand size. Keeps eyes downfield when outside pocket. Accurate rolling out and even throwing across his body. Good speed for the position, with above-average quickness and burst. Fair mechanics. Throws with above-average velocity. Good deep accuracy. Usually goes through progressions. Good escapability.

Quarterback Negatives: Long windup. Depends a little too much on his own escapability, and will hold ball too long often. At times, seems to lose a sense of where the rush is coming from – will run into contact. Seems a little skittish at times, and will hesitate throwing. Eyeballs receivers in clutch situations. Has a lot of tipped passes as a result of eyeballing receivers.

Pre-Draft Projection: Round 2. Sized better for wide receiver in the NFL.

Byron Marshall, WR/RB/KR, Oregon – 2016

Postseason events: NFL Combine.

Positives: Above-average bulk for the position – built more like a running back. Adequate hand size. Runs with above-average speed and burst. Very good stop-and-start ability and moves well laterally. Runs pretty good routes. Generally good hands, and can extend on the move, and has nice body control and coordination on off target passes. Can hold onto the ball with a big hit. Nice open-field vision. Above-average power, and churns well. Versatile and converted from full-time running back to part-time wide receiver in 2014. Above-average upper-body strength.

Negatives: Below-average height for the position. Needs to be more decisive on goal line and in short-yardage situations. Will occasionally body catch. May be contact shy and sometimes short-arms passes over the middle when a hit is coming. Late decisions overall, and often stretches runs too far outside. Inconsistent vision, and misses a lot of cutback opportunities. Below-average balance making big cuts with or without the ball, and will slip often. Below-average track speed at his pro day. Slightly below-average burst and lateral quickness at his pro day measurements. Very poor vertical leap and broad jump at his pro day. Injured leg in October 2015, had surgery, and missed rest of season.

Sterling Shepard, WR/PR, Oklahoma – 2016

Giants, Round 2.

Postseason events: NFL Combine and Senior Bowl.

Positives: Adequate bulk for the position. Above-average hand size. Runs with above-average game speed and has adequate track speed. Good quickness off the line, and has quick feet that help him change directions quickly. Runs above-average routes and is smooth in his breaks. Generally above-average hands. Despite his lack of size, he can go up and get the ball, and will go to the ground for low passes. Shows good concentration and above-average body control on contested passes. Has above-average cutback vision and doesn’t give up easily after the catch. Fights hard for extra yards and is very competitive. Fair catches punts fearlessly in traffic. Adequate downfield blocker. Very good vertical leap. Adequate lower-body explosiveness in Combine drills. Good upper-body strength.

Negatives: Below-average height for the position. Below-average ability to change directions with burst in Combine drills. Runs a little bit out of control. Should get more separation on comeback routes. Will jump for passes for no reason. Injured groin in November 2014 and missed a few weeks.

Durron Neal, WR/KR, Oklahoma – 2016

Postseason events: College Gridiron Showcase.

Positives: Can cut out of his breaks quickly when he chooses – though his routes are inconsistent. Generally good and reliable hands and concentration over the middle. Can extend well and shows above-average concentration on contested passes. Holds the ball even with a big hit. Good effort on off-target passes. Solid downfield run blocker who maintains his blocks and drives defenders.

Negatives: Runs below-average routes, and is consistently round on his out routes. Questionable open-field vision. Doesn’t run with much balance and seems easy to knock off his feet.

Projection: Undrafted free agent.
