DJ Foster, WR/RB, Arizona State – 2016

Postseason events: NFL Combine and was a midweek addition to the Senior Bowl.

Positives: Adequate bulk and hand size for the position. Versatile athlete who moved from running back to outside receiver in Spring 2015. Also used as a slot receiver. Runs with adequate game speed and track speed for the position. Is a sudden runner with quick feet and above-average quickness off the line. Above-average lateral quickness and can make defenders miss one-on-one. Has generally adequate hands, and tracks fairly well over his inside shoulder. Good effort for off-target passes and will lay out. Runs like a running back after the catch, with nice balance after contact. Strong enough to break multiple arm tackles on one play. Protects the ball fairly well high and tight through the line. Adequate vertical leap. Above-average ability to change directions with burst in Combine drills. Adequate upper-body strength.

Negatives: Below-average height for the position. Below-average concentration on passes at times and will turn upfield before securing the ball. Not much vision in the open field, and will run into defenders despite his quickness. Suspect balance while running and seems to fall down easily. Needs to attack the ball more in the air. Needs to explode more out of his breaks to get separation. Will sometimes jump for passes when he doesn’t need to. Poor lower-body explosiveness in Combine drills.

Projection: Round 7.

Richard Mullaney, WR, Alabama – 2016

Transferred from Oregon State in 2015.

Positives: Was a grad student, so experience isn’t a problem. Adequate speed. Runs above-average routes. Very reliable, smooth hands and can extend and highpoint passes in traffic. Is a pretty solid downfield blocker who can drive his defender and maintain his leverage.

Negatives: Though reliable, he will also let passes get to his body at times, and it looks like he has some trouble with fast passes. Fairly weak as an in-line run blocker, and gets knocked back easily and consistently. Below-average open field vision. Injured his ankle in spring practices and missed a few weeks. Injured elbow in 2014 and missed several games.

Projection: Undrafted free agent.

Poor vertical leap and general lower-body explosiveness in pro day tests. Below-average lateral quickness and poor ability to change directions with burst in pro day tests. Fairly weak upper body. Ryan Burbrink, WR/PR, Bowling Green – 2016

Has above-average hands and will go to the ground for off-target passes. Consistently good concentration in traffic. Shows good quickness and vision in the open field, with good lateral quickness to sidestep tacklers. Protects the ball well after the catch with both hands. Seems to have reliable punt fielding hands.

Negatives: Below-average size. Consistently gets himself in poor position for fielding punts, and will take risks fielding punts off-balance at extension.

Projection: Undrafted free agent.

Positives: Runs with good speed and above-average lateral quickness and acceleration. Has some ability to extend for fast passes. Not easy to get a hold of in the open field. Though he lacks size, he seems willing to seek out contact. Fields punts very reliably in traffic. Willing to get physical as a blocker despite his lack of size.

Negatives: Runs below-average routes, and rounds off his out routes. Will also be off balance when making his breaks, and will slip coming out of them. Generally below-average hands – will let the ball get to his body at times and also drop some where he has to extend. May be slightly contact shy, and will drop passes crossing over the middle. Missed last two games of 2015 for unknown reason, but was ready for the bowl game.

Projection: Undrafted free agent.
