WR Jeremy Ebert, Northwestern

Patriots, 7th round. Northwestern: Below-average height, but well built.

Positives: Adequate hands. Fast track speed, but only average game speed. Good vision and quickness after the catch. Adequate upper-body strength. Fairly nimble on the sideline. Adjusts well to back-shoulder passes. Threw very good bullet pass on two-point conversion in 2011 bowl game.

Negatives: Trouble beating press coverage.

Projection: Could stick at the end of the roster and contribute a little. May compete with Julian Edelman for a spot, but is likely a practice squad candidate.

RB Michael Smith, Utah State

Buccaneers, 7th round. Utah St.: Below-average size.

Positives: Above-average speed, burst, and upper-body strength. Great track speed. Willing to sacrifice body when blocking. Not easy to arm tackle. OK hands and agility.

Negatives: Upright runner with below-average power. Lunges too much when he blocks.

Projection: Lands in an excellent spot for his talents, and might stick on team as their 3rd-down back. He should at least stick on a practice squad. Won’t ever surpass Blount or Martin. Not fantasy relevant.

RB Brandon Pendergrass, Wake Forest

Positives: Above-average speed, quickness and power. Adequate burst. Fair hands. Good balance after contact. Keeps legs moving and lowers shoulders well in short-yardage situations. Though ball security looked like an issue in college, it looked like he was coached up on that in Battle of Florida game, where he ran with ball high and tight. Runs with nice body lean.

Negatives: Tended to run through the line with poor ball security.

Projection: Undrafted. May have the skills to stick in the NFL as a backup.

RB Stephfon Green, Penn State

Lions, UDFA. Penn. St.: Slightly below-average size.

Positives: Good long speed. Adequate burst and vision. Despite size, lowers shoulder well to gain extra yards. Also plays special teams.

Negatives: Kicked off team in August 2011 but reinstated. Poor hands and tracking, and ball gets to body. Below-average acceleration. Below-average upper-body strength.

Projection: Enters a fairly crowded RB depth chart, with Best, Leshoure, Kevin Smith definitely ahead of him, and I’d add Joique Bell, too. Will battle Keiland Williams for the last RB spot on the team, and his special-teams ability gives him a good shot to make the roster. But his best bet is the practice squad or another team. Not fantasy relevant.

RB/WR Rodney Stewart, Colorado

Bengals, UDFA. Colo.: Very small for the position.

Positives: Above-average speed and burst. Very quick change-of-direction ability. Above-average upper-body strength. Good hands — snagged one-handed pass in Casino del Sol game.

Negatives: Suspect balance — often slips making cuts in open field. Lacks vision.

Projection:  Has better future as a slot WR than a RB. Just doesn’t have the size to be an effective blocker as a 3rd-down back. Has nice skills as a receiver and could stick as at least a bench player on some team — just not the Bengals. Not fantasy relevant.

WR/QB Keith Nichol, Michigan State

Good size. Above-average hand size.

Positives: Above-average hands. Versatile — former QB who still split time at WR and QB in 2011. As WR, is a strong downfield run blocker. Above-average intermediate routes. Fairly strong after the catch. Tracks ball well deep.

Negatives: Below-average speed. As QB, works mostly underneath routes. Not a very accurate passer. Lacks zip on throws. As WR, doesn’t get good deep separation.

Projection: Undrafted, but his versatility should get him into a camp. Much better future as a WR than QB, but could stick as a bench player.

WR/KR Jared Green, Southern

Panthers, UDFA. Southern: Son of Hall of Fame CB Darrell Green. Above-average size. Above-average hand size.

Positives: Elite speed. Tracks ball well over shoulder. As a returner, is hard to bring down. Reportedly good acceleration and quickness. Fair routes. Nice body control on errant passes.

Negatives: Below-average concentration on contested passes. Needs to work on getting feet down on sidelines.

Projection: Enters camp as one of probably 10 WRs trying to get on the Carolina bench. I expect him to make the team as probably the 6th WR because of his kick-return skills and speed. Is raw, but if he develops, could be a good complementary deep threat someday. No need to draft, but keep an eye on how the team uses him.

WR Dale Moss, South Dakota State

Packers, UDFA. S.D. St.: Very good size. Above-average hand size.

Positives: Runs with adequate speed. Very good track speed for the size. Raw route runner but improving. Excellent quickness in Pro Day drills. Extends and adjusts well for passes away from frame. Fights for yards. Excellent overall athleticism.

Negatives: Only one year of college football after being a basketball player, so he’s raw.

Projection: Should battle for position with Tori Gurley, and likely makes roster as a long-term project. Could eventually be a solid starter, but not for a few years. No need to draft him.

WR Thomas Mayo, California-Pennsylvania

Raiders, UDFA. Cal. (PA): Above-average size. Average hand size. Played in Shrine Game. Chargers, Eagles and Saints have shown interest.

Positives: Strong and explosive lower body. Reportedly: Above-average acceleration, speed, tracking of passes over shoulder. Seems coachable. Extends well on passes away from frame.

Negatives: Below-average routes and quickness, especially deep. Below-average concentration and reportedly had trouble remembering plays in Shrine Game practices.

Projection: Enters camp as 6th WR, at best. Likely practice squad candidate.

QB Tyler Lantrip, Nevada

Positives: Makes fair decisions when he can improvise. Less effective within the pocket. Moves well in pocket and keeps eyes downfield on the run. Adequate speed and quickness. Has experience as a starter — started first three games of 2011.

Negatives: Ended his college career as a senior backup to a freshman. Holds ball loosely on the run.

Projection: Undrafted, and doesn’t really have NFL skills. May have a surprisingly lengthy career as a JT O’Sullivan-like backup.
