Troymaine Pope, RB, Jacksonville State-FCS – 2016

Positives: Though he lacks size, he is built proportionally. He runs with above-average game speed, adequate track speed, and adequate lateral quickness, which was borne out by his pro day measures. Adequate burst, though he had very good times in his pro day measures. Decisive behind the line. Follows his blockers pretty well behind the line. Patient behind the line. Keeps his balance well after contact. Fairly effective stiff arm. Adequate upper body strength. Above-average vertical leap and broad jump.

Negatives: Short for the position, with below-average bulk. Below-average vision behind the line. Below-average hands and concentration, and will turn up field before securing the pass. Doesn’t consistently churn through contact. Has a hard time recovering and accelerating after stopping his momentum. A little bit overmatched against bull rushers as a pass protector.

Projection: Undrafted free agent.
