Herschel Sims, RB, Abilene Christian-FCS – 2016

He started his college career at Oklahoma State, but was dismissed in 2012 and transferred to Lamar. Then he transferred to Abilene Christian in 2014.

Postseason Events: Tropic Bowl.

Positives: He runs with adequate speed and lateral quickness for the cutback and has a nice jump cut at the line. Above-average patience through traffic and behind the line. Has enough acceleration to get through the hole. Willing to lower his shoulder at the end of runs for extra yards. Okay hands. Negatives: Below-average power and is easy to bring down one-on-one. Generally poor balance making big cuts and consistently doesn’t keep his feet squared under his shoulders. In short-yardage situations, he is indecisive, and twice was nearly stopped for a safety because of that in the Tropic Bowl. I would be slightly concerned about why he went to so many different schools over his career.

Projection: Undrafted free agent.
