Dwayne Washington, RB, Washington – 2016

Lions, Round 7. Declared early for the 2016 NFL Draft.

Positives: Great height and good bulk for the position, with a nearly fullback build. Strong enough to fight through contact at the line. Above-average track speed for the position, but good for the size. Good vertical leap and broad jump for the position. Adequate lateral quickness in pro day tests, and good ability to change directions with burst. Adequate upper-body strength.

Negatives: The lateral quickness and burst he showed in his pro day testing didn’t show in games, where he looked below average in both categories. Behind the line, he seldom even seems to look to cutback. Slow to change directions in the open field. Suspect balance making cuts. Legs look out of sync with the rest of his body. Below-average ball security. Below-average hands and has trouble extending while adjusting.

Pre-Draft Projection: Undrafted free agent.
