Wes Saxton, TE, South Alabama – 2015

All-Star Games: Shrine Game.

Positives: Very good speed for the position, and gets off the line quickly. Okay downfield blocker. Can track and extend pretty well over his inside shoulder. Not afraid to go over the middle despite his lack of size. Above-average hand size.

Negatives: Doesn’t have the size to be a typical in-line tight end, with H-back height and bulk. Below-average in-line run blocker who will lower his head and lean against defender, making him easy to pull off his feet. Below-average upper-body strength. Suspect attention and wasn’t ready for a pass over the middle in Shrine Game practices. Below-average hands, concentration and blocking skills in Shrine Game practices. Needs more separation coming out of his breaks.

Projection: Round 5.
