Clive Walford, TE, Miami – 2015

All-Star Games: Senior Bowl.

Positives: Adequate height and bulk for the position, but great hand size. Runs with above-average speed. His routes are crisp and he accelerates quickly out of his breaks to get separation. Has generally good hands and can extend very well for passes away from his body – snagging fast passes even in wet conditions. After the catch, he shows above-average power and isn’t easy to bring down. Is able to hold the ball with the big hit. Pretty good concentration in traffic.

Negatives: Below-average hand-eye coordination and agility and has trouble adjusting to off-target passes. Suspect run blocking ability, and he will try to cut block when he should probably just drive through defenders. Injured knee in November 2014 and missed unknown amount of time. Reportedly showed poor attitude in Combine interviews.

Projection: Round 3. He’s one of the better receivers at tight end this year, and has the athleticism to be a passing game weapon. But his deficiencies in blocking may keep him off the field.
