Mike McFarland, TE, South Florida – 2015

Former transfer from Florida.

Positives: Great height and adequate bulk for the position. Is an athletic and agile tight end who runs with slightly above-average speed, lateral and directional quickness, and explosiveness. Has good, natural hands and can extend for passes well away from his body. Seems pretty strong at the point of attack as an in-line blocker. Adequate field sense. His feet moves fairly well laterally as an in-line pass blocker.

Negatives: Maybe too slim for his height – loses leverage immediately as a pass blocker and will get pushed back. Seems to get called for holding a lot despite his ability to slide with defenders.

Projection: UDFA. Has some solid ball skills and athleticism, and should be able to get into a training camp at least.
