Positives: Great 6’7″ height and good bulk for the height and position. He has good speed for his size and above-average speed for the position. Shows good body control and hand-eye coordination, and adjusts very well to off-target passes. Nice concentration on tipped passes. He has natural hands and can extend and snag passes away from frame. Not easy to bring down after the catch. As a run blocker, he is much more effective and can drive defenders back when he can just go straight ahead and not have to slide his feet. Shows good effort for extra yards. Seems fairly tough, and played in 2013 bowl game one week after knee surgery.
Negatives: Runs with a lumbering stride despite his long speed. Below-average lateral quickness. Adequate at best as a run blocker, and loses balance easily – can get bowled off his feet by a strong defensive lineman and has trouble staying with quicker defenders due to his lack of lateral quickness. Two knee injuries in 2013.
Projection: Round 7. Would make for a nice weapon in the red zone if he can improve his run blocking skills.
