Lucas Shapiro, WR, Cornell-FCS – 2015

Positives: Great height and adequate bulk for the position. Runs with adequate speed. Fair routes and shields defenders well on slant patterns. Will come back to bail out quarterback in trouble. Above-average hands in general. Shows good effort for off-target passes and will lay out to get them. Adjusts fairly well for passes thrown behind him. Holds the ball with a big hit. Will use a stiff arm to get extra yards.

Negatives: Not very quick feet and it looks like he’s lumbering out there. Below-average acceleration. Doesn’t get separation on his comeback routes. Inconsistent concentration and will drop easy passes in the red zone.

Projection: UDFA.

Dezmin Lewis, WR/KR, Central Arkansas-FCS – 2015

All-Star Games: Senior Bowl.

Positives: Very good height for the position, with good bulk and above-average hand size. Runs with adequate speed and explosiveness. Above-average, quick hands and can extend far away from his body to snag fast passes. Above-average concentration on contested passes and will win jump ball situations. Adjusts well to off-target passes – fair body control and tracking and can twist to come down with contested passes. Can get both feet down on the sidelines. Above-average downfield blocker who maintains his blocks for a long time. Above-average vertical leap.

Negatives: Below-average routes and will round them off. Not much deep speed, and doesn’t get good separation on go routes. Doesn’t get good positioning on inside routes. Below-average quickness out of his routes. Below-average vision on kick returns and will push too far upfield before making cuts.

Markeith Ambles, WR/KR, Houston – 2015

Was a redshirt senior. Former junior college transfer.

Positives: Good height and bulk for the position. Runs with adequate speed and above-average quickness. Runs adequate routes – though slow into his breaks, he is quick out of them. Good hand-eye coordination, and tracks passes very well over his outside shoulder. Shows consistently good hands, and can extend away from his frame to snag fast passes and highpoint well. Consistently good effort and body control on off-target passes and will fight for contested passes. Above-average concentration on contested passes. Nimble on the sidelines. Fair open-field vision for yards after the catch.

Negatives: Has to dial down a lot to get into his breaks. A little slow to get going on kick returns.

Projection: UDFA.

Josh Reese, WR/PR, Central Florida – 2015

Was a redshirt senior.

Positives: Adequate height for the position. Has fairly reliable hands. Shows above-average concentration on passes when he knows a hit is coming, and good effort on off-target passes. Tracks passes pretty well over his inside shoulder. Not afraid to fair catch punts just inside the 10-yard line when he needs to. Has fair open-field vision and is pretty strong after the catch – isn’t easy to bring down one-on-one. Nimble on the sidelines. Comes back to help quarterback in trouble. Good downfield blocker.

Negatives: Below-average bulk for the position. Body catches consistently and has a little bit of trouble when he has to extend. Suspect concentration when adjusting for errant for contested passes. As a downfield blocker, has some trouble locating who to block. Questionable decisions on fielding punts and will field in traffic. Doesn’t get much separation on deep routes.

Projection: UDFA.

JJ Worton, WR/PR, Central Florida – 2015

Was a redshirt senior.

Positives: Runs with adequate speed and is shifty after the catch or fielding punts. Has above-average body control, and can extend and snag fast passes at times. Fair concentration on passes in traffic. Above-average downfield blocker. Is also the holder on field goals.

Negatives: Not much change-of-direction ability. Poor ball security technique: he holds the ball away from his body while making moves – even on the goal line. Suspect punt return fielding hands and decisions, often returning in traffic or misjudging his position. Inconsistently able to extend – more often than not, he will body catch. Has a little bit of trouble adjusting to passes behind him. Below-average quickness. Below average routes and is fairly slow in and out of breaks.

Projection: UDFA.

Adam Humpries, WR/PR, Clemson – 2015

Positives: Though his height is lacking, he has adequate bulk for the position. Runs with above-average speed and quickness. Runs crisp routes. Moves with suddenness and will make the first tackler miss on punts. Has generally good hands, and can extend and snag passes away from his frame. Has short, choppy steps after the catch that enable him to make quick cuts after the catch. Is able to stick his foot in the ground and make quick cuts to go up the sideline. Is a good downfield blocker. OK punt handling.

Negatives: Below-average height for the position. Will make some very risky decisions on returns.

Projection: UDFA.

Matt Miller, WR, Boise State – 2015

Was a redshirt senior.

Positives: Has very good height and bulk for the position. Runs with adequate speed and quickness. Though inconsistent, he has adequate hands, and can extend for passes at times. Okay concentration on passes in traffic, and shows above-average ability to track passes over his inside shoulder. Consistently good downfield blocker, who seems determined to maintain his blocks. Was also the team’s holder on field goals.

Negatives: Runs below-average routes and tends to cut them short of first down. Not very quick and, though his game speed seemed adequate, he ran with below-average speed at his Pro Day. Poor upper-body strength. Hands are inconsistent, and he tends to body catch and bobble passes away from his frame. Suspect balance making cuts. Below-average vision after the catch, and will run into contact – doesn’t offer much after the catch. Out for 2014 season due to left ankle sprain and surgery.

Projection: UDFA.

Positives: Shows generally adequate hands, and can extend at times for passes away from his frame. Adjusts fairly well to off-target passes. Is able to hold the ball with the big hit. Smart kick return decisions. Good kick returner hands and can field the ball over his shoulder. Gives good effort as a downfield blocker.

Negatives: Will body catch at times and have trouble adjusting to passes thrown slightly behind him. Seems to dance too much as a punt returner and kick returner. Seems to run a little bit off-balance after the catch.

Projection: UDFA.

Demetrius Wilson, WR/PR, Arkansas – 2015

Transferred from community college in 2012.

All-Star Games: Medal of Honor Bowl.

Positives: Above-average height for the position. Generally good hands and concentration and can extend for passes far away from his frame and lay out. Good body control and can catch passes while falling down and adjust pretty well to off-target passes in the air. Fair concentration on contested passes and consistently good effort on off-target passes. Runs like a running back after the catch. Smart fair catch decisions and gets himself in the pretty good position on punts. Gives some effort as an in-line run blocker. Willing downfield blocker.

Negatives: Though his height is adequate, he has a slim build with slightly below-average bulk. Tore ACL in August 2013 and missed season. Isn’t a very strong inline run blocker. Slow change-of-direction ability.

Projection: UDFA.
