Positives: Was a redshirt senior, so he doesn’t lack experience. Above-average height and bulk for the position. Adequate hand size. Good effort for off-target passes. Fair downfield blocker – doesn’t drive defenders back, but stays in their way. Adequate track speed. Adequate ability to change directions with burst in pro day tests, Above-average upper-body strength.

Negatives: Consistently poor hands and lets the ball get to his body regularly and drops passes where he has to extend. Also needs to tuck the ball away after the catch to keep it from being stripped. Below-average body control and concentration – has trouble reeling in errant passes or passes in traffic. A little slow to get going after the catch. Doesn’t get a lot of separation on hitch routes. Not quick out of his breaks. Rounds off routes. Below-average vertical leap and lower-body explosiveness in Combine and pro day drills. Below-average lateral quickness in pro day tests. Suspended by team in November 2012 for team rules violation. Injured shoulder in first game of 2013 and missed some time. He also injured shoulder in 2014.
