KJ Maye, WR/RB/KR, Minnesota – 2016

Postseason events: Senior Bowl.

Positives: Adequate bulk for the position, with a solid build. Runs with good game speed. Long strider but is still pretty quick making cuts. Adequate routes and is pretty crisp into and out of his breaks. Has generally adequate hands. Able to absorb a hit after the catch and keep going. Really looks fearless over the middle of the field, with good concentration in the middle of defenders. Very good body control and can bring in passes while he is falling to the ground and can also twist and extend to bring in passes thrown far behind him on the move. Gets upfield quickly after the catch, digging his foot in the field and making quick cuts. Protects the ball with both hands through traffic.

Negatives: Short for the position, with below-average hand size. Needs to be more willing to cut the ball upfield on outside runs. Sometimes misjudges passes in the air. Not much of an outside run blocker. Rounds off his out routes at times. Though his game speed is pretty fast, his track speed is below average. Below-average lateral quickness and poor ability to change directions with burst in pro day testing.

Projection: Round 7.
