Keyarris Garrett, WR, Tulsa – 2016

Postseason events: NFL Combine and Shrine Game.

Positives: Good height and bulk for the position – nearly H-back size. Runs with above-average long speed in games and adequate track speed for the position. Generally above-average hands and can extend well. Good concentration in traffic and is able to make some very hard catches. Adjusts consistently well for the back-shoulder pass. Tracks consistently well over his inside shoulder and fairly well over his outside shoulder. Is nimble, and can tiptoe down the sidelines after contact. Has a good sense of when to get out of bounds in the two-minute drill. Falls forward after contact. Not easy to bring down after the catch. Adequate vertical leap. Above-average lower-body explosiveness in Combine drills. Adequate upper-body strength.

Negatives: Though he has good height and bulk, he has long, thin legs and below-average hand size. Doesn’t accelerate very well out of his breaks and has below-average lateral quickness. Has some lapses in concentration, though, and some fast passes will go through his hands – a tendency that also showed up in the gauntlet drill at the Combine. Lets some passes get to his body. Suspect balance making big cuts in the open field and looks the ball over defenders instead of go around him. Poor ability to change directions with burst in Combine drills. Broke leg in September 2013, had surgery, and missed rest of season. Minor foot injury kept him out of Shrine Game.

Projection: Round 5.
