Deandre Reaves, WR/KR/PR, Marshall – 2016

Chargers, UDFA.

Positives: Was a redshirt senior, so he doesn’t lack experience. Runs with good speed and above-average acceleration. Quick feet, moves well laterally, and shows above-average vision on kick returns. Above-average lateral quickness and is very elusive in the open field. Runs fair routes and gets separation on his out routes by cutting it back towards the quarterback just slightly. Very good concentration when a hit is coming. Above-average body control and can adjust to passes thrown behind him. Decisive – getting upfield on kick returns very well. Knows when to get out of bounds in the two-minute drill. Is also the gunner on punt teams.

Negatives: Runs a little bit out of control, and trips himself up on his own. Very inconsistent fair catch decisions. Doesn’t always get himself in good position to field punts. Makes very dangerous decisions on punt returns, and will retreat and cross the entire field before cutting it up field. Fair caught punt at the 3-yard line in 2015 bowl game. Looks very unwilling to take a knee in the end zone on kick returns. Though his hands are reliable, he lets the ball get to his body at times.

Projection: Undrafted free agent.
