Chris Brown, WR, Notre Dame – 2016

Postseason events: NFL Combine and Shrine Game.

Positives: Good height for the position. Adequate hand size. Though his pro day numbers argue against it, he runs with above-average speed, lateral quickness and burst. Above-average quickness into and out of his breaks and runs above-average routes. Generally adequate hands and can extend well. Will lay out for difficult passes, giving good effort. Has above-average body control and can bring in passes while spinning in the air. Tracks passes well over his inside shoulder. Has an elusive first step and will usually slip the first defender. Fair vision in the open field. Above-average strength and fights well for extra yards after the catch. Switches his hands well on the sideline as a ball carrier. Adequate track speed. Above-average broad jump for the position.

Negatives: Below-average bulk for the position, with a very slim build. Will occasionally body catch. Inconsistent concentration on easy passes and will turn his eyes up field before securing the ball – also dropped a touchdown pass in Shrine Game. Below-average vertical leap for the position. Below-average lateral quickness in pro day tests. Very poor ability to change directions with burst in pro day tests.

Projection: Round 7.
