Kenyan Drake, RB/WR/KR, Alabama – 2016

Dolphins, Round 3.

Postseason Events: Senior Bowl and NFL Combine.

Positives: Great height for the position, with above-average hand size. Good track speed and game speed. Runs with above-average burst and has quick feet that allow him to make quick cuts. Above-average open-field vision, and can find small lanes to burst through. Adequate jump cut at the line. Runs with good body lean and generally good balance after contact – can put a hand down to keep going. He is able to extend well for fast passes. Tracks pretty smoothly over his outside shoulder. Adequate vertical leap. Above-average broad jump. Above-average ability to change directions with burst in Combine drills. Protects the ball well.

Negatives: Slightly below-average bulk for the position – built more like a wide receiver. Runs out of control at times. Inconsistent hands and concentration on easy passes – will drop them when he turns upfield without securing the catch. Poor upper-body strength. Was reportedly terrible at pass protection at the Senior Bowl practices. Was suspended for the first game of the 2013 season for undisclosed reason. Arrested in July 2014 for misdemeanor “obstruction of government operation.” Broken left fibula in October 2014 and missed rest of season. Broke right arm in November 2015, had surgery, but was back for the playoffs.

Pre-Draft Projection: Round 5.
