Was a redshirt senior.
All-Star Games: Shrine Game.
Positives: Versatile – former starting quarterback who switched to tight end for senior season and became the starter. Great height and adequate bulk for the position. Adequate speed and quickness for the position. Above-average hand size and long arms for a wide catch radius. Okay hands, and tracks passes well over his outside shoulder. Good concentration in traffic. Seems to be a solid red zone target. Worked well in both man and zone coverage in Shrine Game practices and ran smooth routes. Runs with good power after the catch, and is not easy to bring down. Pretty good downfield run blocker.
Negatives: Lacks experience at the tight end position. Poor upper-body strength. Not much of an inline blocker at this point. Wasn’t an outstanding quarterback in college as a passer, and was hesitant to throw, showing late recognition of open receivers, eyeballing receivers, and tending to just take off running when his primary receiver is covered.
Projection: Round 5.
