Ben Koyack, TE, Notre Dame – 2015

All-Star Games: Senior Bowl.

Positives: Above-average height and adequate bulk for the position, with great hand size. Has enough long speed and runs adequate routes. Above-average hands and concentration, and can make the one-hand catch and extend. Can come up with the catch while sliding to the ground. Solid downfield blocker who doesn’t give up. Fair pass protector. Can come up with the catch while sliding to the ground.

Negatives: Accelerates slowly off the line. Slow to make his cuts and isn’t very deceptive, either. Lacks explosion coming out of his breaks or going into them. Below-average balance making cuts. Sometimes loses his concentration turning upfield before securing the ball. His hands are not very quick and he has a little trouble with fast passes, which was also evident in the Combine gauntlet drill. Runs a little bit out of control after the catch. Inconsistent technique as a pass protector, and will lower his head and get pulled off his feet – or defenders will just spin around him. Weak upper body.

Projection: UDFA.
