Chiefs, UDFA. Kan.: Great size. Great hand size. Transferred from Notre Dame in 2012.
Positives: Good on timing routes. Adequate velocity. Can throw with touch. Fair accuracy on short passes. Adequate speed and athleticism for the size. Can read defenses to find single coverage and also knows how to adjust on the fly.
Negatives: Was starter at Kansas for the first half of 2012, but was replaced by a freshman. Has had injuries in both knees in career. Below-average medium and deep accuracy. Passes tend to sail. Long windup. Below-average arm. Immobile. Eyeballs receivers. Doesn’t move well in pocket and needs to learn to step forward when there’s outside pressure. Below-average speed, quickness and overall athleticism.
Projection: Will compete for an outside chance at the last QB spot with Chase Daniel and Ricky Stanzi — and maybe Tyler Bray, depending on how the team views him. Doesn’t really have NFL abilities, but could stick on some other team’s roster for a while. No need to draft.
Dayne is gonna make it!! He will persevere…..just needs the chance. I don’t know that the KCC opportunity is the right one. They have some investments in the other QB’s. I think he should try for Pats, Colts, Rams, Ravens, Bears.
I hope so. Nobody ever has a bad thing to say about Crist as a person
