WR Mohamed Sanu, Rutgers

Bengals, 3rd round. Rutgers: Junior who has declared for 2012 draft. Above-average size. Great hand size.

Positives: Strong after the catch. Fairly strong upper body. Good hands — can extend and make circus catches. Adequate speed for the size. Great track speed for the size. Fairly quick acceleration. Average change-of-direction skills. Nimble on sideline. Was Wildcat QB in 2010. Fair routes help him gain separation.

Negatives: Lacks extensive experience as WR. Suspect ball security — doesn’t protect ball when contact’s coming.

Projection: Enters a fast-improving Bengals offense, with AJ Green, Andy Dalton, Jermaine Gresham, and BenJarvus Green-Ellis. Team also drafted WR Marvin Jones in the 5th round. So many targets means Sanu could get lost in the shuffle, and I think he will lose the starting battle to Marvin Jones. Is still developing as a WR, but should be solid WR3 in a year or so in this offense, and a WR2 if he starts ahead of Jones.
