FB Michael Cox, Massachusetts

Giants, 7th round. Mass.: Good HB size, but below-average size for a FB.

Positives: Adequate speed for the size. Very good overall athleticism. Above-average change-of-direction ability. Adequate upper-body strength.

Projection: Likely won’t make the team behind David Wilson, Andre Brown and Ryan Torain at HB, but could be an adequate backup to Henry Hynoski at FB. Not fantasy relevant.

QB Sean Renfree, Duke

Falcons, 7th round. Duke: Good size. Average hand size.

Positives: Nice touch on medium passes. Knows when to throw ball away. Adequate accuracy on medium throws. Good play fakes. Adequate speed. Above-average accuracy overall.

Negatives: Comes from a spread offense. Below-average velocity. Injured throwing shoulder late in 2012 and couldn’t work out in early 2013. Doesn’t read deep safety.

Projection: Should be the team’s backup QB unless they bring in a veteran. Accurate enough and poised enough to be an adequate NFL backup, but not much else.

WR Aaron Mellette, Elon

Ravens, 7th round. Elon: Good size. Above-average hand size.

Positives: Adequate deep speed. Adjusts well.

Negatives: Slow out of breaks and tends to drift on routes. Below-average body control on off-target passes. Doesn’t complete routes. Needs to be more physical off the line against press coverage. Tries to finesse his way past press. Below-average upper-body strength. Below-average overall athleticism.

Projection: Goes to a team without a lot of established WR starters, and will be able to fight for a spot. May make the roster or practice squad, but isn’t special enough to make an NFL impact.

QB/WR BJ Daniels, South Florida

49ers, 7th round. S. Fla.: Below-average size.

Positives: Versatile — worked out at WR and DB at pro day. Adequate arm strength. Tough — played with AC joint injury in college. Knows when to throw it away. Average speed. Fairly accurate outside of pocket. Has experience under center.

Negatives: Eyeballs just about every throw. 3/4 release and has a bit of a long windup. Below-average velocity. Poor accuracy. Throws off back foot and falling backwards often. Broke left ankle in November 2012 and missed rest of season.

Projection: If he makes the team, it won’t be as a QB. Will probably be kept around and groomed for another position. No need to draft.

WR Marquess Wilson, Washington State

Bears, 7th round. Wash. St.: Junior who has declared for 2013 NFL Draft. Good height and adequate bulk. Average hand size.

Positives: Adequate speed. Very good change-of-direction ability. Was highly productive in 2011.

Negatives: Suspended by team in November 2012 and left the program due to what he called “abuse of players”.

Projection: Won’t start over the big three in Chicago — Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffrey and Earl Bennett — but may make the team. Not fantasy relevant for a while, though.

RB Kerwynn Williams, Utah State

Colts, 7th round. Utah St.: Below-average size. Average hand size.

Positives: Good burst. Runs with good body lean. Smart PR fielding decisions. Has nice second gear on outside runs. Good balance making big cuts. Above-average track speed. Above-average athleticism in Combine measurements. Adequate hands. Above-average balance after contact. Above-average speed. Good vision and quick feet to easily bounce outside, and also makes him effective as a PR. Keeps legs churning after contact.

Negatives: Holds ball too loosely through line. Below-average power and not much leg drive. Suspect ball security. Below-average upper-body strength.

Projection: Will likely become the team’s change-of-pace back to Vick Ballard and, depending on how well he blocks, he may be their 3rd-down back. Draft as a 50/50 timeshare option to Ballard who could produce as an RB3.

RB Jawan Jamison, Rutgers

Redskins, 7th round. Rutgers: Sophomore who has declared for 2013 NFL Draft. Short for the position with below-average bulk. Very small hands.

Positives: Keeps shoulders squared when making cuts. Not easy to bring down. Above-average burst. Good quickness and vision for jump cut. Quick feet. Above-average pass blocker. Average upper-body strength.

Negatives: Below-average track speed. Below-average athleticism in Combine measures.

Projection: Has the skills to do very well in a Mike Shanahan offense, and will likely battle for a second or third RB spot on team behind Alfred Morris. And his pass-blocking ability will make it easier to leave him out there on 3rd downs. And in a Shanahan offense, who knows? Draft as an RB5 with RB2 potential if he gets a chance.

WR Kevin Dorsey, Maryland

Packers, 7th round. Md.: Good size.

Positives: Nice speed, acceleration and routes.

Negatives: Below-average hands and concentration — tries to one-hand passes too often. Needs to be more aggressive on contested passes. Seems to misjudge passes.

Projection: Likely won’t make the team, but could stick on practice squad. And on the Packers, he’s in a good position for production if he improves his ball skills.

TE Chris Gragg, Arkansas

Bills, 7th round. Ark.: H-back size.

Positives: Adequate hands. Gets squared as run blocker.

Negatives: Lunges too often as pass blocker. Below-average balance and body control. Hurt leg in September 2012 and missed several games.

Projection: Has backup potential, but nothing more.

QB Brad Sorensen, Southern Utah

Chargers, 7th round. S. Utah: Great size. Average hand size.

Positives: Throws a tight spiral. Above-average arm. Steps into throws even under pressure. Above-average velocity. OK arm. Willing to run if there’s open space. Adequate accuracy on intermediate throws. Throws the back-shoulder pass well.

Negatives: Eyeballs receivers and misses open reads. Inconsistent. Needs to vary velocity and tends to throw bullets on short passes. Below-average accuracy on timing routes. Erratic footwork on dropback. Below-average speed, athleticism, and quickness. Consistently poor red-zone decisions — will throw it up for grabs.

Projection: Decision making and lack of athleticism are his downfall. Has enough passing ability to make it as a backup in the pros, but nothing more. And will likely only be the third QB in San Diego.
