Hunter Sharp, WR/PR, Utah State – 2016

Postseason events: NFL Combine and Shrine Game.

Positives: Adequate bulk and hand size for the position. He runs with above-average game speed, with good lateral quickness and open-field vision, which also showed in his pro day testing. This makes him hard to bring down in the open field. Runs above-average routes and has a pretty good double move. Adjusts consistently well to off-target and underthrown passes. Wins jump ball situations. Good and tenacious downfield run blocker. Gets downfield quickly on punt returns.

Negatives: Slightly below-average height for the position. Inconsistent hands – will let the ball get to his body pretty consistently and drop passes where he has to extend – a tendency that showed up in the Combine gauntlet drill. Questionable decisions as a punt returner and will sometimes lose yards dancing. On end around runs, he needs to cut downfield more aggressively and not stretch the run too far outside. Though his game speed and quickness are above average, those numbers at the Combine were below average. Poor vertical leap and lower-body explosiveness in Combine drills. Below-average upper-body strength.

Projection: Undrafted free agent.
