Positives: Runs with above-average speed. Has quick feet and uses his quickness to get off the line easily and run crisp routes. Has generally above-average hands. Is a good run blocker with good effort who can maintain blocks. Above-average body control and hand-eye coordination – adjusts to passes fairly well and tracks passes very well.
Negatives: Below-average height and bulk for the position. Below-average concentration on passes when he knows a hit’s coming. Made consistently terrible fielding decisions on punt returns and kick returns throughout his college career – fielding in heavy traffic, bringing the ball out of the end zone at the wrong time, not getting into good position to field punts or kicks, and trying to return kicks after fielding in heavy traffic. He also bobbled a kick in the end zone – then just dropped it and left it behind in his 2014 bowl game – potentially a touchdown for the opposition. Also tends to dance too much on returns – even going backwards at times. Below-average ball security technique. Below-average vision on returns, and will run into contact and push too far into the hole before trying to cut back.
Projection: UDFA.
