TE Michael Williams, Alabama

Lions, 7th round. Ala.: Great size. Great hand size.

Positives: Consistently adjusts well to errant passes. Solid, pile-driving run blocker who can win and get to the next level. Large, reliable hands can snag fast passes. Good feet and slides well to block speedy pass rushers. Runs adequate routes. Tracks passes well over outside shoulder.

Negatives: Hands aren’t very soft, and he doesn’t look like a natural receiver. Slow, with below-average acceleration. Poor overall athleticism.

Projection: Goes to a team with two established starters at TE in Brandon Pettigrew and Tony Scheffler, but their future with the team is cloudy after 2013. Has the all-around skills and excellent blocking ability to be a big part of goal-line and short-yardage packages and could be a sneaky TE3 in 2013. TE2 potential in 2014 and beyond.
