Stephen Anderson, TE/WR, California – 2016

Postseason Events: NFL Combine.

Positives: Adequate hand size. Generally adequate hands, and will look passes into them. Runs above-average routes. Above-average track speed for a tight end. Adequate speed as a wide receiver of that size. Very good quickness side to side and when accelerating out of cuts at pro day tests for a tight end, and above average for a wide receiver. Good vertical leap and above-average lower body explosiveness in Combine drills.

Negatives: Built more like a good-sized wide receiver, and is very short and slight for a tight end. Poor upper body strength. Has some trouble adjusting to passes thrown behind him on the run or extending for passes away from his body. Below-average ability to track passes over his head.

Projection: Undrafted free agent.

Braxton Deaver, TE, Duke – 2016

Positives: Was a redshirt senior. Good height and adequate bulk for the position. He runs with adequate track speed but above-average game speed for the position. Generally above-average hands and can extend and highpoint well. Good effort for off target passes and will dive. Also runs adequate routes, and often lined up as a wide receiver. Above-average upper-body strength. Fair run blocker who can at least redirect defenders.

Negatives: Used often as a wide receiver and not an inline tight end. Inconsistent concentration, and sometimes looks up field before securing the ball – getting the ball knocked out by defenders or letting passes go through his hands. Below-average vertical leap and broad jump for the position. Below-average lateral quickness and slow ability to change directions with burst in pro day tests. Tore right ACL in August 2014 and missed season.

Smart fair catch decisions as a kick returner.

Trayion Durham, FB, Kent State – 2016

Postseason Events: NFLPA Bowl.

Positives: Shows adequate vision for cutback. Above-average power. Runs with good body lean. Tends to fall forward for extra yards. Protects ball through line. Okay hands and can go to the ground to bring in low passes.

Negatives: Below-average speed and burst. Seems to lean into contact more than churn through it. Runs a little off balance. Slow to change direction and take advantage of his vision. Below-average pass blocker and seems late to react to blitzers. Below-average run blocker and looks a little lost about who to block. Needs to pay more attention to being a potential checkdown receiver when he’s running routes.

Projection: Undrafted free agent.

Trevon Pendleton, FB, Michigan State – 2016

Positives: Inconsistent hands and concentration – can snag fast passes but will also drop easy ones. Above-average body control, and can adjust well to off target passes. Okay pass blocker. Generally above-average run blocker who consistently gets good leverage, maintains his block, and turns defenders away from ball carrier or drive them back. The team consistently runs where he is blocking.

Negatives: Will leave his feet at times as a run blocker and lose leverage. Is sometimes slow to get into position on outside runs and will get in his runner’s way.

Projection: Undrafted free agent.

Above-average agility and body control, and isn’t easy to bring down in the open field. Very solid run blocker who drives defenders back well and stays latched on. Holds the ball with a big hit.

Negatives: Below-average cutback vision, burst and lateral quickness. When running routes, he sometimes seems to be lazy and doesn’t even look for the ball.

Projection: Undrafted free agent.
